| The Shoplifters are an Indie/Alt. Rock band from Cwmbran, South Wales. They are a 4 piece and formed in March 2005 when 5 piece band 1984 split up. Lead Guitarist James Farror, Bassist James Shingler & Drummer Rhys Townsend decided to keep together and so The Shoplifters were formed. They were joined on Rhythm Guitar by Joel Woodard. The Shoplifters have been heavily influenced musically by the works of Radiohead, Suede, Manic Street Preachers, The Clash & Oasis. The band are continuing to gig throughout South Wales.
