The Tides, are four mates from the city of Swansea in South Wales. They formed in late 2005 after unsuccessful times with other bands and members. Their style of music is a modern indie/rock, with catchy, thoughtout songs and lyrics, comparable to bands such as, the Killers, the Kaiser Cheifs and Kasabian. Having been only around for a short period of time, The Tides have already accomplished themselfs as one of the biggest bands in and around Swansea, pulling in many dedicated fans to every gig. The Tides have just completed a three track demo, and already the demand for it is overwelming. So much so in fact, they have placed their demo upon www.ebay.co.uk, listed in category: Music > CDs > Other CDs. Although young, The Tides are experienced enough to turn up at a gig and blow everyone away with the riffs, bass lines, banging drums and of course, the vocals. Their power, stage presence, and catchy songs, gives everyone something to talk. The youngest member of the band, at aged 24, is Gavin Powell (stage named, Klarax), whos instrument is the guitar, and is also the songwritter. Simon Gray (Simod), aged 25, is the bass guitarist and has a larger than life personality. Carl Ward (Wardy), who is also 25, is the energetic frontman that everyband needs, his powerful vocals, and his large character makes him the ideal singer. Lastly, the biggest drinker of the band, on drums and percussion is Jonathan Jones (Jonus), who is aged 30. Jonus is not just a drummer, he is a brass player by trade and has played at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Conference Centre and Londons Hyde Park. He has an A-level in music and he too sings backing vocals with The Tides. Currently, The Tides are putting together a tour, stopping at more than sixty-two different ventues. After the completion of the tour, The Tides are venturing back into the studio to record another further eight songs.
