2004 Welsh CAMRA Pub of Year.
The Boars Head is situated in the center of Brecon next to the main bridge that spans the River Usk.
We are the flagship of Breconshire Brewery which has won the gold medal in the Bitters Class for the third year running with Brecon County Ale and was the joint winner of the Best Bitters Class for the second year in sucession with Golden Valley.
Just a few of the results awarded by CAMRA Champion Beer of Wales Competeition, 2005.
We have a public and lounge bar which can seat up to 50 people, a beer garden next to the River Usk. Also there is wheelchair access.
You'll also find traditional pub sports such as darts, quoits and pool. There is a digital juke box in the public bar.
We pride ourselves on our real ale selection and we are members of CAMRA. There is also a good selection of wines and spirits available. Our home cooked food is something of which we are also very proud.
We are family friendly and dog friendly too.
Catering for large parties is available with a sit down meal or buffet.
The Boars Head is one of Brecon's longest running, and most respected live music venues in Powys.
The bands we showcase range from folk rock to traditional blues.
Live music once a month on a Friday night starting around 9:30pm.
On bank Holidays we sometimes have more live music on the Sunday evening. Please call us for more informatiion or check out our gigs within this website.
