7.00pm | £5.00 |
| A memorial gig for Dai Parminter who sadly passed away recently is being held in The Lennox Club 1-2 West Street, Bargoed , CF81 8RZ. on Wed 30th July 08, 7pm til 11pm? Alka's (Cakehole Presley/Captain Paranoid) band will be performing on the night and maybe! some others, Nick Walker is providing the P.A. and there will also be a drum kit there, because there's also a jam session, with some of Dai's old friends and new who will be getting up for a knock. Also but I'm not sure if its still on but there was talk of an auction/raffle, if it's on, have a look if you have anything hanging about the house you would like to get rid of, and I don't mean any of the kids (donation for the auction/raffle), tickets for the event are only a fiver, so even if you can't be there in person on the night you can still buy a ticket and donate a fiver to the fund, |

THE WORRIED MEN | 9.00pm | FREE |
| HEART THROB, BOY BAND...so good they could be Welsh!! I suppose Bristol, Bath & Chepstow are close enough to God's Country to explain the phenomenal talent of these guys, for if you are into Blues and R&B you have arrived at THE place! Think of Thorogood, Gary Moore, Wilko Johnson - Get the idea? If you like ZZ Top or The Hamsters you are in for a special treat! theworriedmen.com is where blues, r&b, live music can be found. Few bands these days are in such great demand as the worried men, why? " impeccable live reputation" - Venue " Brilliant" - AWOL Bikers Magazine " These boys can show 'em all a clean pair of heels" - British Blues Connection. Blues, R&B, Rhythm and Blues It just doesn't get any better than this! About The Worried Men In the winter months of 1994, guitarist JAMIE THYER took time out from playing on demonstrations for Marshall amplifications and Rotosound strings. He began writing and rehearsing with a rhythm section under the ironic name of THE WORRIED MEN. Initially, they considered that the originality of their style and direction would place them on the outer peripheries of fashion motivated rock music, yet, because of their ability to entertain and not merely play, enthusiastic audiences, promoters and even record companies swiftly disproved this! Their live album Fear and Loathing at the Wünder Bar was recommended by Venue and AWOL magazines, and despite a lack of formal promotion, their local gigs attracted an avalanche of press and an ever-growing mailing list. As a direct result of this, THE WORRIED MEN embarked on a relentless succession of nationwide dates, averaging around four or five gigs per week at such venues as Nottingham Rock City, London's famous Marquee Club etc, alongside artists like Robin Tower, Chicken Shack, Wilko Johnson, Robert Cray, Jefferson Starship, besides many others - always to an overwhelming reception. (Partly due to the practice of constantly adding to their repertoire, thereby ensuring no two shows are the same). It seemed as though a tired and jaded rock scene needed their fresh approach! After more than their share of trials and sorrows, the current incumbents of the engine room are Patrick O'Farrell Cook, bass, who should need no introductions to the cognoscenti. With the imminent release of their sixth album Righteous!, THE WORRIED MEN are touring constantly around England, looking forward to their by now traditional appearances at the world famous Great British R & B and Gloucester Blues Festivals, with European dates later this year. |

"Went down a storm" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Harley Owners Group Bridgwater 2005 Cider Rally gig: "Out of the three nights this was the best and had the best band on - The Rosie Walters Band. She was first rate, and what a powerful voice. The dance floor was full as she whipped the crowd into a dancing frenzy - bloody brilliant. If anyone has the chance to see her then do so - you will not be disappointed." (Roadhog - Great Western HOG Chapter. May, 2005) -----------------------------------------------------------------------Reviews of the HOG Bridgwater 2004 Knot Rally gig: The Rosie Walters Band "were storming as our Friday night band.
