| Band Members Peter Hughes - Guitar and Vocal Graeme Jones - Drums and Vocal Andy Gibbon - Bass and Vocal Andy Berry - Guitar and Vocal About Blues Central Since their debut at the 2001 Bishopstock International Blues Festival, Blues Central, fronted by Pete Hughes, are a regular feature of the UK club and festival scene including the Maryport and Burnley Blues Festivals, plus a string of appearances at “The Jazz Café” venue, in the heart of Cardiff plus the Salisbury Blues Club in Swansea and Torfaen Jazz and Blues among others. Peter, formerly guitarist and vocalist with the 1970’s UK cult band, “Good Habit” (RCA Records), and acclaimed studio and touring session player says the band’s distinctive style is heavily “Chicago” influenced with just a touch of Freddie King in there somewhere! Lately, the band has expanded to include Soul and Funk plus original material. |

| The band is a sort of South Wales super group or looking at some of the members, maybe stupor group would be more appropriate, but hey it gives us that laid back feel at times. The members come from a number of different bands, still playing or defunct. Snatch it Back, In the Red, Steam House, T.S.Blues, Tin Pan Alley and The Rascals. Add to that a young highly talented keyboard player, who is plying his trade at the Welsh College of Music and you have a volatile mix of musicians that provide a wealth of experience and variety of styles that appear to blend together smoothly like a rich dark cup of coffee that needs to be savoured and leaves you with that warm contented feeling and keeps you awake at night. (Sorry getting carried away)! The band are: Jamie - Lead Guitar Brian - Drums Nick - Bass & vocals Chris - Keyboards Colin - Harmonica & Vocals Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Nat King Cole, Kim Wilson, John Lee Hooker, Bad Company, Wilbert Harrison, Jimmy Reed, Robert Johnson, Bondi Cigars. Not unfortunately artists that have appeared with the band (would be a nice biog though wouldn’t it?) but some of the artists songs that are covered by this band and covered in their own unique style. |
